How you can have a relationship with Jesus Christ
The Bible says in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
The Bible makes it clear that our sin carries a penalty. “For the wages of sin is death” (Spiritual separation from God) Romans 6:23
Sounds hopeless doesn’t it. Friend, I have good news. GOD LOVES YOU!
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”
You might be asking, “How can God love me with all that I have done?”
Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty for your sins and my sins. Ephesians 1:7 says, “In Him (Jesus Christ) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins”
Remember what you read earlier in John 3:16? “...whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Perhaps you are not sure what it means to believe in Jesus Christ or how to be saved for that matter.
You and I must individually receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. We do this through faith. “For it is by Grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
We receive Christ by personally inviting Him to come into our lives to forgive us of our sins and to make Him Lord by giving Him full and complete control of our lives.
You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer. Romans 10:9 says, “That if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” The following is a suggested prayer. If this prayer expresses the desire of your heart, pray it right now and Christ will come into your life as He promised.
“Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I ask You to come into my life to forgive me of my sins, to be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for dying on the Cross for my sins. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Help me to live for You.”
Friend, if you just prayed that prayer and you meant it, Jesus Christ is now your Savior and Lord and your sins are forgiven.
